Who we are
Winy is made by Winy LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("Winy", "we", "us"). This policy covers the website at winy.ai, the Winy apps for Mac, iPad and iPhone, and Winy's online services at app.winy.ai. Questions about it go to support@winy.ai.
The short version
- We collect only what we need to run Winy, keep it secure, and understand how people find it.
- We do not sell your information, and we do not show ads.
- The Winy apps contain no third-party analytics or advertising code.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time.
What we collect
When you visit winy.ai
For each page you open, we record the page, the website that sent you (its domain only, never the full address), any campaign tags in the link you followed, your approximate location (country, region and city) and the name of your network, both worked out from your IP address, your device type, browser and language, and the time. We also record a daily visitor code: a one-way scrambled value made from your IP address and browser that changes every day, so we can count visitors without following anyone from one day to the next. We do not store your IP address, and we do not use cookies for this.
When you join the waitlist
We keep your email address, your device type, your approximate location and the website that sent you. The sign-up form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that you are a person and not a bot.
When you create an account
You can sign in with Google, with Apple, or with a code we email you. We receive and keep your account identifier from that provider, your email address, and your first name if the provider shares it. We also keep the devices you connect to your account (the device name and when you connected it), your plan, and your settings.
Your boards
Without cloud sync, your boards stay on your own devices. When you use cloud sync, the web version or a connected AI app, your board content is stored on our server so your devices can share it. It is encrypted in transit, but it is not end-to-end encrypted, which means it is technically readable on our server. We access it only to run, secure and support the service, or when the law requires it.
Connected AI apps
If you connect an AI app such as Claude or ChatGPT to your Winy account, that app can read and change the boards you allow it to, through a permission you grant and can revoke at any time. What the app does with that content is governed by its own provider's terms and privacy policy.
AI agents and tools you run in Winy
Agents and tools you run inside Winy, such as Claude Code or Codex, run with your own accounts at their providers. What you send them goes to those providers under their terms, not ours.
When you email us
We keep the messages you send us and our replies.
How we use it
- To provide Winy: signing you in, syncing your boards, and sending sign-in codes and messages you asked for.
- To keep Winy secure: preventing abuse, fraud and spam.
- To understand how people find Winy and which pages they read, so we can improve the site and the product.
- To contact you about the waitlist, early access, or changes to Winy.
- To meet legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that run Winy for us, and only what each one needs:
- Cloudflare: website hosting, security, bot checks, and our databases.
- Google Cloud: the server that stores synced boards, in the United States.
- Resend: delivering sign-in emails.
- Notion: our internal record of the waitlist.
- Slack: internal notifications when someone joins the waitlist.
- Google and Apple: only when you choose to sign in with them.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of Winy or others, or as part of a sale or merger of the business, in which case this policy keeps applying to it.
How long we keep it
We keep account and board information for as long as your account is open, and waitlist information until you ask us to remove it or Winy no longer needs it. Website visit records are kept as long as they are useful for understanding how the site is used. When you delete your account or ask us to delete your information, we delete it, except what the law requires us to keep.
Your choices and rights
Email support@winy.ai to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or get a copy of it, or to leave the waitlist. We will answer within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to object to how we use your information and to complain to your local data protection authority. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising.
Where your information is stored
Winy is run from the United States, and your information is stored and processed there and wherever our providers operate.
Children
Winy is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we update it on this page and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell account holders by email before it takes effect.
