Winy

Comparison - Collaborative design platform

Winy vs Figma

Figma is where teams design and ship interfaces together; Winy is a native canvas where you think with ink and run your coding agents.

Figma is a collaborative design platform for interfaces, with components, variables, auto layout, prototyping, Dev Mode for developer handoff and an AI agent, all in multiplayer files.

Winy is a native infinite-canvas notebook for Mac, iPad and iPhone where real agent sessions like Claude Code and Codex run as live cards next to your ink and notes.

Winy has no design tools and no real-time collaboration, so it does not replace Figma; it is where one person thinks through the problem and runs the agents that build it.

Which one is for you

Choose Figma if

  • You design product interfaces and need components, variables and auto layout.
  • Your team designs together in the same file and reviews with comments.
  • You want clickable prototypes and Dev Mode for handing designs to engineers.
  • You want your agents to read and edit real design files through Figma's MCP server.

Choose Winy if

  • You want a place to think before the design, with Pencil ink, notes and arrows on an infinite canvas.
  • You want Claude Code, Codex or any CLI agent running live on the board next to your notes.
  • You want the same board on your Mac, iPad and iPhone.
  • You want to see at a glance which agents are working and which are waiting on you.

Using both

Use both. Keep the designs in Figma and do the thinking on a Winy board, where the Claude Code or Codex session that builds the screens runs as a live card. That agent can reach your Figma files through Figma's MCP server while your plan and sketches sit right beside it.

Questions

Is Figma free?

Figma's Starter plan is free with limited access to its products. Paid plans are per seat: on Professional a Full seat is $16 per month, a Dev seat $12 and a Collab seat $3.

Can I use Figma for thinking and brainstorming?

Figma's whiteboard for that is FigJam, which is built for team brainstorms. If you want a personal canvas for thinking with Pencil ink, where your coding agents run next to your notes, that is what Winy is for. See Winy vs FigJam.

Does Figma work with Claude Code?

Yes. The Figma MCP server supports Claude Code, Codex and Cursor, and with the remote server an agent can write directly to the canvas in Figma Design and FigJam. In Winy the Claude Code session itself runs as a live card on the board.

Is Winy a Figma alternative?

No. Winy has no design tools, prototyping or real-time collaboration. It is a thinking canvas with live agents, and it works alongside Figma rather than in place of it.

Thinking is Winning

Think with your agents.

Winy is a Mac, iPad and iPhone canvas where you think and work with AI agents in one place. Better thinking in, better output.
