Winy

Comparison - AI coding agent

Winy vs Amp

Amp is a coding agent that keeps working in its own machines; Winy is the board where Amp's CLI runs as a card beside your notes.

Amp is a multi-model coding agent and development environment, with a CLI for your terminal, a web app, Mac, iPhone and iPad apps, and cloud machines called orbs that keep working after you close your laptop.

Winy is a native infinite-canvas notebook for Mac, iPad and iPhone, where any CLI agent, the Amp CLI included, runs as a live terminal card on the board next to your notes, ink and images.

They do different jobs: Amp is the agent and its environment, while Winy is a board you think on, where an Amp session sits beside your plans and your other agents.

Which one is for you

Choose Amp if

  • You want the agent and its machines: Amp gives each thread an orb that keeps working after you close your laptop.
  • You want one agent that uses models from several labs, with your own keys, your existing ChatGPT or Claude subscription, or credits at providers' API prices.
  • You want to start and follow agent threads from the web or Amp's own iPhone and iPad apps, and share them with your team.

Choose Winy if

  • You run Amp's CLI next to Claude Code, Codex or other CLI agents and want all of them on one board.
  • You want your notes, sketches and arrows beside the agent, and visible to it.
  • You want a board you think on, with the agents running on your own Mac, open on your iPad and iPhone too.

Using both

Use both. Amp's CLI runs in a terminal card on the Winy canvas, the same Amp threads and account you use everywhere else. Put it beside a Claude Code card and your notes for the task, draw on the board while it works, and zoom out to see which agents are working and which are waiting on you.

Questions

Does Winy work with Amp?

Yes. Amp ships a CLI, and Winy runs any CLI agent as a live terminal card on the canvas.

Is Amp free?

Amp has a free Hobby tier with every product feature: you bring your own keys or your ChatGPT or Claude subscription, and pay as you go for orbs. The Individual plan is $20 a month with included usage, and extra credits carry no markup on providers' API prices for individuals.

Is Amp on iPad?

Yes. Amp has Mac, iPhone and iPad apps for its threads. Winy on iPad is a different thing: the same canvas as on your Mac, with your notes, ink and the agent cards your Mac is running, Amp's CLI among them.

Can I run Amp and Claude Code side by side?

Yes. In Winy each one is a card on the same board, next to your notes.

Thinking is Winning

Think with your agents.

Winy is a Mac, iPad and iPhone canvas where you think and work with AI agents in one place. Better thinking in, better output.
