Winy

Comparison - AI code editor and agent

Winy vs Cursor

Cursor is an editor with agents; Winy is the board where Cursor's CLI agent runs as a card beside your notes, while the editor stays an editor.

Cursor is an AI code editor and coding agent for macOS, Windows and Linux, with cloud agents, an iPhone and iPad app to manage them, and Cursor CLI, which runs the same agent in your terminal.

Winy is a native infinite-canvas notebook for Mac, iPad and iPhone, where any CLI agent, Cursor CLI included, runs as a live terminal card on the board next to your notes, ink and images.

They fit together: the Cursor editor is where you read and change code, and Winy is the board where Cursor's CLI agent sits beside your plans and your other agents.

Which one is for you

Choose Cursor if

  • You want an editor: Cursor is where you read and change code yourself, with agents alongside.
  • You want agents running in the cloud on their own machines, and PR review and merge from your phone or iPad.
  • You work on Windows or Linux, or your team needs SSO, admin controls and pooled billing.

Choose Winy if

  • You run Cursor's CLI agent next to Claude Code, Codex or other CLI agents and want all of them on one board.
  • You plan with notes, arrows and a Pencil, and want that thinking beside the agents and visible to them.
  • You want to zoom out and see which agents are working and which are waiting on you, from your Mac, iPad or iPhone.

Using both

Use both. Keep the Cursor editor for reading and changing code, and run Cursor CLI in a terminal card on the Winy canvas, a real session on your Mac with your Cursor account and models. Put it next to a Claude Code card and your notes for the task, and zoom out to see which agents are working and which are waiting on you.

Questions

Does Winy work with Cursor?

Yes, through Cursor CLI. Cursor's terminal agent runs in Winy as a live terminal card, like Claude Code or any other CLI agent. The Cursor editor itself stays a separate app.

Is Winy a Cursor alternative for iPad?

For a different job. Cursor's iPad app manages Cursor's cloud agents and reviews pull requests; it is not a full editor. Winy on iPad is the same canvas as on the Mac, with your notes, Pencil ink and live cards for the agents your Mac is running, Cursor CLI among them.

Does Winy have a code editor like Cursor?

No. Winy is a notebook with terminals and agent cards on it. If you want to edit code by hand in an editor, use Cursor for that and Winy for the board around it.

Is Cursor free?

Cursor has a free plan with limited agent requests. Paid individual plans start at $8 a month, Teams starts at $30 per user per month, and third-party models are billed separately by usage.

Thinking is Winning

Think with your agents.

Winy is a Mac, iPad and iPhone canvas where you think and work with AI agents in one place. Better thinking in, better output.
