Comparison - Open source coding agent
Winy vs OpenCode
OpenCode is an open source agent for any model; Winy is the board where OpenCode runs as a card beside your notes.
OpenCode is an open source AI coding agent from Anomaly, available as a terminal interface, a desktop app and an IDE extension, and it connects to models from 75+ providers.
Winy is a native infinite-canvas notebook for Mac, iPad and iPhone, where any CLI agent, OpenCode included, runs as a live terminal card on the board next to your notes, ink and images.
They do different jobs: OpenCode is the agent, while Winy is a board you think on, where your OpenCode sessions sit beside your plans and your other agents.

Which one is for you
Choose OpenCode if
- You want the agent itself: OpenCode reads your code, edits files and runs commands, with any model you choose.
- You want open source under MIT, with free models included and no lock-in to one lab.
- You want the same agent in your terminal, a desktop app and your IDE.
Choose Winy if
- You run OpenCode next to Claude Code, Codex or other CLI agents and want all of them on one board.
- You want your notes, sketches and arrows beside the agent, and visible to it.
- You want to zoom out and see which agents are working and which are waiting on you, from your Mac, iPad or iPhone.
Using both
Use both. OpenCode's terminal interface runs in a card on the Winy canvas, a real session on your Mac with your providers and config. Open a card per task or per model, keep the plan and a sketch beside each one, and zoom out to see which agents are working and which are waiting on you.
Questions
Can I run multiple OpenCode agents at once?
Yes. OpenCode itself can run agents in parallel on the same project. In Winy, each OpenCode session is also its own card, so several sit on one board next to your notes and next to other agents like Claude Code.
Does Winy work with OpenCode?
Yes. Winy runs any CLI agent as a live terminal card, and OpenCode runs in the terminal.
Is OpenCode free?
OpenCode is free and open source under MIT, and it includes some free models. OpenCode Go is an optional $10 a month plan for open models, and you can also connect your own provider keys or a GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT login.
Is Winy an OpenCode GUI?
Not exactly. OpenCode has its own desktop app. Winy is a notebook first: the OpenCode card is the real terminal session, on a board with your notes, ink and other agents.
Thinking is Winning
Think with your agents.
Winy is a Mac, iPad and iPhone canvas where you think and work with AI agents in one place. Better thinking in, better output.
