Comparison - AI coding agent
Winy vs GitHub Copilot CLI
Copilot CLI is GitHub's agent in your terminal; Winy is the board where Copilot CLI runs as a card beside your notes.
GitHub Copilot CLI is a GitHub-native coding agent for the terminal that works directly with your issues and pull requests, and it is included in every Copilot plan.
Winy is a native infinite-canvas notebook for Mac, iPad and iPhone, where any CLI agent, Copilot CLI included, runs as a live terminal card on the board next to your notes, ink and images.
Winy has no model of its own, so it does not replace Copilot CLI: it gives your Copilot CLI sessions a place on the board where you can see them and think around them.

Which one is for you
Choose GitHub Copilot CLI if
- You want the agent itself, tied into GitHub: Copilot CLI works with your issues and pull requests directly.
- You already have Copilot: the CLI is included in every plan from Free to Enterprise.
- You want to fan work out to parallel subagents with /fleet and pick models from several labs.
Choose Winy if
- You run Copilot CLI next to Claude Code, Codex or other CLI agents and want all of them on one board.
- You want your notes, sketches and arrows beside the agent, and visible to it.
- You want to zoom out and see which agents are working and which are waiting on you, from your Mac, iPad or iPhone.
Using both
Use both. Copilot CLI runs in a terminal card on the Winy canvas, a real session on your Mac signed in to your GitHub account. Keep the issue you are working on, a sketch and your notes beside it, run another agent in the next card, and zoom out to see which agents are working and which are waiting on you.
